Monica was exposed to music at a young age and has been active ever since. She began taking piano lessons at age eight and found her singing voice before kindergarten. Her involvement in school choirs, musicals and solo/ensemble festivals elevated her interest in further studies. In 2012 Monica earned a BA degree in Music Education from Grand View University. Along with teaching private lessons, her experience includes organizing and leading music workshops for at-risk youth, directing choral works, composing music and lyrics, and performing professionally around Des Moines. "It is a privilege to help students turn their goals into reality." Students will learn to read music, perform expressively, and build a repertoire in an encouraging environment. Monica enjoys working with beginning students ages four to young adult.
