Eventide Solilioquy is an original composition featuring each instrument of the flute family in a musical soliloquy, showcasing the beautiful colors of a flute orchestra as well as each different type of flute in a variety of musical styles. The inspiration and dedication of this piece is in lovbing memory of Sean Callan MacDonald, the composer’s son, and it is meant to evoke his life in song. It received its premiere by the Metropolitan Flute Orchestra in summer residence at the New England Conservatory in Boston in July of 2011. For intermediate-level players.
